CT Scan Clear

Hey All,

Wanted to let you all know that the CT scan came back clear. Sat morning around 2:30am Micah seemed to be in pain - we as well as the doc were concerned about the possibility of fluid building up. So the nurse wheeled us down for a CT scan and within 30 min he was done and the scan read. Praise the Lord there is no addition fluid building up in Micah's brain. So the nurses gave him some meds and he was able to rest much better. The last two days he has been doing alot of sleeping and resting which we are so grateful for. You could tell that he desperately needed the sleep.

Chemo is scheduled to start tomorrow and go through Fri. We have had a run down of all the medicines, side affects and procedures. But are still so unsure what to expect. One of the nurses on our floor is even the sister of a close childhood friend of Luke's. Isn't the Lord kind to surround us with people we know and who love us!

Thanks again for being the best friends and family in the world! Your love and support contiue to overflow to us!

With Much Love,
The Davis Clan
Luke & Krisicnda, Braet, Micah, and our little baby girl (who we are still working on a name for!)

"Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation." Is 12:2

Specific Prayer Requests:
-That this treatment would work well and Micah would not experience the side effects common with the drugs
-He is still on antibiotics and had a low grade fever this morning, so that any infection in his little body will heal quickly

Sweet Reunions

Hello All,

Micah has been moved to the 4th floor today (out of the ICU)!! And Braet got to see him for the first time in 10 days. It was a sweet little reunion! Braet greeted Micah warmly and so gently-Micah's face lit up! "Braet, Braet!" he said. What a joy for Luke & I to watch. Braet stroked Micah's face and shared toys with him. Later they both got a bit stir crazy but it was wonderful to spend the day with all of us together.

Micah is still pretty tired but resting better here and thank the Lord his fever is gone! He has a CT Scan Sunday to make sure no fluid is building up in his brain before chemo starts on Monday. We have checked out of the Ronald Mc Donald house and are spending the night with little man until we see how things go.

Tomorrow we are heading home about 6pm to spend time with Braet but Nana & Micah will have a camp out!

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today." Heb 3:13
Thank you all for your daily encouragement, what a wonderful example of this verse you have been. Thanks for all you love!

Luke & Kriscinda, Braet, Micah and Baby Davis

Specific Prayer Requests:
*If you could please pray that the fluid in his brain will drain properly so that he doesn't have to have another short surgery to put a shunt in.
*That Micah will sleep well.
*For Luke & I that the Lord would give wisdom and grace to care for our boys during this time.
*For Micah's complete healing.

Thanks again!

Sonogram Look Great!

Hello Again!

We have lots of updates for you...
* Micah's sonogram came back and looks good. Praise the Lord! How grateful we are that the cancer is not in his kidneys!
* Tomorrow they may be moving Micah to the 4th floor (out of ICU) if his sodium levels are good and if so we will be checking out of the Ronald McDonald house.
* Chemo is scheduled to start around Monday.
* His fever is down and he was much happier today =)
* We have also started a web page for Micah that you can go to and register for. Every time we send an update it will automatically email you. You can also look at some pics and post us a note if you like. It is a really neat idea that some friends said worked well for their family. So feel free to check it out.

If you could please pray for his sodium levels to be maintained without an IV (his body is losing sodium through his urine and when they drop too low it can cause seizures). The doctors also think he has an infection which they are treating with antibiotics but the longer the infection goes the longer they have to delay starting his treatment. So if you could pray for those things we would greatly appreciate it.

Today was a relaxed day at the hospital. Micah is looking so good and healing well. He got a little more sleep today and enjoyed cuddling in momma and dadda's lap. Thank you all for your continued prayers, support, calls and emails. It is wonderful to hear from you with your encouraging words!

Thanks Again!
Love,
Luke & Kriscinda, Braeton, Micah and Baby Davis

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Ps 23: 4 & 6

Greatest Kindness

Jan 24, 2006 Hello All, I now know what CJ (one of the pastors at Cov Life) means when he says that the greatest kindness you can do for someone is to pray for them~ especially in their time of need. Our family has been bathed in prayers. So once again thanks for your emails and prayers they have been a great source of comfort and encouragement particularly last night. We had an emotional day as we received the results from pathology. Dr. Packer (the most renowned doc in this field in our country) said Micah has a very rare, aggressive brain tumor called Atypical Teritoid Rhabdoip Tumor (better know as ATRT), there about 50-60 children in US that have it and as we heard the news are hearts broke with sadness for our son and the long journey ahead. We have cried, we have prayed, and I am sure we will do both alot more. This cancer is not able to be treated with chemo alone so they will add another drug to the treatment called Methotrexate. They have been having some success with this drug. We are trying not to focus on the odds or the ifs but rather continue to turn to the Lord. We are still praying for a miracle but are trusting in strength from the Lord for whatever the road ahead has. Today we also got to hold our little chunk for a long time; it was wonderful. We read books (over, over and over again) sang, watched cartoons and tried to comfort him- he doesn't like any tubes in at all! We are at home for the evening and have been enjoying spending time with Braet. Tomorrow Micah will have a sonogram to make sure the tumor isn't in his kidney's (which is common with this type of cancer) so we would covet your continued prayers for our little boy. With Much Thanks & Appreciation Love You All, Luke & Kriscinda, Braeton, Micah and Baby Davis "When tears are great and comforts few We hope in mercies ever new We trust in You" song- God Moves

Thanks

Jan 19, 2006 Hello All, There is no way for us to thank you enough for your prayers, calls and thoughts! How we have appreciated your nearness to us in our time of need. Your words and scriptures have encouraged our heart and soul. We are so thankful to God who is our ever present help, and for you all, we would not have wanted to walk this road without you. 'Lil Micah is in surgery today and everyone who is taking care of him has been wonderful (and that is an understatement). They have been loving on him and gently explaining things to us. One night after dinner when Luke and I came into the room his nurses were by his bedside just stroking his head and arm. How warming to our heart!! John, Joe and Brian (our pasters) came to pray with us this morning before surgery~ how encouraging, my doubting heart was once again lifted and reminded of the truth of God's goodness and today my heart believes it more than ever. And while this trial has truly been testing us we will through God's grace count it all joy. As of 12:30pm, the nurse reported back to us that all is going better than expected - there has been very little bleeding which was a main concern of theirs - Praise God! Still no word on the type of tumor but we will keep you posted. Thank you so much for all of your prayers - we feel their effect. Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Love to you All and much thanks! Luke & Kriscinda, Braeton, Micah and Baby ~ Side note from the surgeon... after meeting our pastors and telling the doc who they were she said , "Those are your pastors? Wow, they look so young and hip!"

Surgery

Surgery for Micah was scheduled for 8:30 am. It will last anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on how much they decide to take out. They did another MRI on Micah yesterday and found another spot somewhere else in his brain and also a questionable area in his back. Kriscinda said their prayer request for today would be that regardless of what happens during surgery that they would be able to really believe that God is good.

Micah Man 1

Jan 16, 2006
Hello All~ As some of you know our little Micah has been admitted to Children's Hospital today after finding a large mass in his brain. He has an MRI tomorrow and then surgery in the next few days (we will know more after the MRI).Luke is at Childrens and has sent me home to rest and gather some stuff to bring to the hospital. We are doing... sometimes well and then... lots of tears. We are so thankful for Dr Niu (Micah ped), the wonderful team of doctors and God's sovereignty for allowing this to be found. We would covet your prayers for Micah, us and our family during this time. It is hard to know just what to say but we are truly finding grace and strength for the day. Also if you could pray that we would not allow our thoughts to drift to tomorrow or "what ifs" but rather focus on today know God does provide grace for each day and he is our help and strength in time of need. Our family has been wonderful as usual. We have had many calls and our brothers, sister, grandparents, Sol and our pastor, Joe Lee were with today~ it has been more meaningful than you know. Braet knows Micah at the hospital with the doctors and wants to know when he is coming home =) he's praying for his brother too. Micah is doing pretty well considering, the docs are surprised by how much he is doing with as big as the mass is. He is reading lots of books, watching Animal Planet and cartoons, not to mention sticking to his Dadda like glue! Well everyone we thank you in advance for your prayers and will email again when we know me. Forever God is faithful Forever God is strong Forever God is with us ~ Forever Love, Luke & Kriscinda, Braet, Micah and Baby
