Few Updates

Since the last time we chatted Micah had been approved for the trial... Well there was a mistake and currently Micah doesn't qualify but hopefully in 3 weeks another slot and another trial will open and he will truly "qualify" then. All of his tests have been pushed back to Feb 13 & 14 (the MRI and Pet Scan).

Thanks for all the recommendations for pill swallowing. They have been helpful!

He is still doing well and the fam is excited about MICKEY. What a wonderful organization! We are being soooo blessed by them. If any of you are very looking for a place to volunteer or donate to... please let me highly recommend MAKE A WISH. (They except cash donations and new toys)

Thanks again for all your prayers, we so appreciate them! I think Micah is the most prayed for little boy in the entire world! =)

I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. Job 42:2

Micah News

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update... little man looks great and Make A Wish came on Sunday, they have approved Micah to go to Disney! We leave in Feb. What a wonderful organization! We can't wait to go, we anticipate a great time with the fam! What a blessing!!

Also Micah has been approved for a trial. With a new test drug called Lenalidomide. Please pray that Micah can learn to swallow a pill, that is the only way he will be able to participate in this study. So this week will be a busy one for Mikes. He must have a physical exam, MRI, PET Scan and blood work all before Tuesday. We would also greatly appreciate your prayers for direction, for the upcoming MRI and our trip.

We have had so many communicate their prayers and care for us. Thank you, it means more than you know. God is keeping our hearts in peace and we are so enjoying the kiddos. We are painting and doing lots of coloring (since the kids have been sick). And CC well she is growing too fast.

Another fun note for today.... Jan 25 marks Dad's 6 year surgery anniversay- pretty amazing!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Okay, we've had our snow, now can we please go back to the 60 weather?! Wasn't that wonderful, but the snow sure is beautiful

Everyone is well on their way to recovery now and Micah's head is healing nicely. Today Make A Wish came, the ladies were wonderful and we are hoping that they will approve Micah's wish to go see Mickey. If so we will be going in the next two weeks or so, we are trying to do it fast. Micah is is such good health and we are looking forward to some more memory making!

Mikeys ER Visit

Alas another adventure...Life was boring around the Davis house with everyone being sick, so Mike's and I spiced things up with a trip to the ER...

How it happened, you ask? Well...I was carrying Micah and slipped on a wet mat (it was like one of those slow mo things but I was unable to catch myself or my little man)- it was like the rug was pulled out from under me. And then the tears Mikes and I (not because I was hurt but because my little guy was) and off to the ER once again. Thank the Lord and the Corrosion guys that Dadda could met us at the ER (and Nana even brought us some coffee =)We were a mess, blood everywhere and tear streaked faces. We sure looked like raga muffins! Micah looks cute even with his huge bandaid and he had a great nurse- as usual he's a tropper! And Braet, well let me tell you he is quite the big brother, he did such a wonderful job helping to care for his sister.

The kiddos are all starting to feel better. Thanks for your prayers!

The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. Nahum 1:7

Special Day

Today marks Micah's 1 year Anniversary since the tumor was found- His miracle anniversary- a few more days after that day last year and I'm sure we would not have had him here with us. And even though the kiddos are quite sick with colds we are celebrating God's graciousness this last year with Slurpee's, chocolate, song and prayer.
This time last year we were at Shady grove ER and after a CT scan revealed a large mass, Solomon Campbell came to drive me and my brothers to Children's while Luke road in the ambulance. Both our parents and our pastor , Joe Lee, beat us there and were waiting to comfort, cry and pray with us. What a year....how do you sum it up? Love, mercy, grace anew each day in the midst of intense sorrow. How thankful we are for another year to know our little man, to build memories, to sing, laugh , cry and pray together- oh another year!Rejoice with us!

The latest...
-Micah has an appt next Thursday for clinic and should be having an MRI the week of 29th (we are waiting for a date & time)
-Also Susan is in correspondence with the insurance company checking to see if a medicine that has been very successful with colon cancer (and brain tumors) is affordable for Micah.

Thanks for your prayers and notes, we so appreciate them. Can't tell you how they encourage our hearts!

Prayer Request

The Davis house is full of sickies! First it was Breat, then Nana, now Micah and CC has started coughing too. Please pray for us! Particullary Micah, that this cold would leave him soon and the rest of the family would have a speedy recovery as well.

Papa Joe & Granny Joyce made it saftley in from SC and we would hate to send them home with colds. Anyhow we will enjoy our visit, even if it consists of hot tea and movies!

Micah Update

As I think about how you have been so faithful to care for our family through prayers, notes, and "just being there", I am filled with gratitude and am well aware of God's personal love for us. Thank you so much!

Kriscinda and I recently had to go through the toughest decision making processes of our lives - whether or not we should pursue radiation for our son Micah. After praying, talking it through with each other, discussing with doctors, friends, and family, we have decided not to put Micah through radiation. The decision I think was hardest for me, partly because according to the doctors radiation was the last tool they had in the bag for Micah's treatment. I was unwilling to let go - it has been a big lesson in completely depending on the Lord for strength.

Kriscinda and I are filled with a wide range of emotions as we walk through this season of unknowns, from the sorrow of knowing your little guy has a life threatening disease to the joys of watching him play with his little sister and big brother or jamming out on his guitar to the tune of "My God is so Great". Micah's name in Hebrew means "who is like God?" - and we know there is none as loving, as powerful, as near, or as compassionate as our God. He sent his only son to suffer in our place, receiving in himself the punishment that we deserve. His very words provide us with comfort and strength:

"Fear not for I am with you;

Be not dismayed for I am your God;

I will strengthen you, I will help you,

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10

We continue to look for other treatments that might be available to Micah and he is currently on a list for a clinical trial that might open up in the next couple of weeks. We will keep you posted on any developments.

Many of you are already aware of this, but for those who aren't we would love to extend an open invitation to anyone who would like to come by and visit – for dinner, to go to church, or just to hang out.

Specific prayer requests:
* For Micah's healing – he who created the universe is able to do it!
* That our faith would be strengthened and that we would depend fully on God. That we would know his nearness and goodness even in times of sorrow, and even if He wills to bring his little Micah home.
* For wisdom in deciding on any clinical trials that might become available

Thanks again for your outstanding care for us.

With love,
Luke & Kriscinda, Braeton, Micah, & Cianne
