It's hard to believe that in just a few weeks we will be celebrating Kelz 1st birthday. The year has flown and what a joy she is to our family! We all just love that lil squish!!

A few weeks ago she took her first step. Then she took 5 steps to Ally! =) She wouldn't walk for any of us, just Ally! Go Aunt Ally!!! Last night ,however, she put on a show for us. Walking 5, 8 , 10 steps at a time. It was funny to watch a bunch of grown ups go gogoo-googoo over walking! We loved it! She is really going to be on the move now! Watch out world, here comes Kelz!!

Locks of Love

Our Cianne is really growing up. A friend, Aubreigh, of CC's recently cut her hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Shorty after Cianne decide she would like to do the same. So this year for her Maw-Maw's birthday she cut her hair in honor of her.

So sweet, so grown up. We all enjoyed CC long chocolate hair (as she called it) so it was especially wonderful that she was willing to part with it to benefit others.

Cianne, we love ya so and a grateful for the girl you are becoming. You are loving others more than yourself. And the short cut is totally cute!!! Thanks Ally for the awesome haircut!!!

Dear Friends & Family,

Merry Christmas!!! We hope you are well and enjoying this wonderful season of celebrating the Saviors' birth. We certainly are namely, with new traditions this year, an advent book. It is a captivating story that is hard to put down, after we read (just a lil) we put the kids to bed by candle light which they love. It has certainly been a special time for us to try and slow down with the family and reflect. Our kiddos have been over the top excited ever since Thanksgiving. Cianne, was sure that the day after Thanksgiving is Christmas =) It took some convincing that it still isn't quite here, but she's counting down. Braet also had his first choir performance which was fun one of the songs they sang was one of Mikes favorite so that was especially nice treat for me.
This year has also brought 2 additions to our fam ,our lil Mikelle and a soon to be Aunt Ally! We are so grateful, what joy they have brought!
Praise be to God for the marvelous gift of his Son, Emanuel, God with Us!

Fall Update

Lil Fam Update!

Well its been a while since I have blogged or sent out an update (trying to be better at that- my new goal is monthly but don't hold me to it =)! I was inspired by my cous sending out pics of the fam on her "farm.'

So what's been up, well we have def had some Fall highlights!! Disney, Give Kids the World and Butlers just to name a few!
So Disney was super, crazy, exhausting, fun, hot, relaxing and wonderfully memorable. Give Kids the World was over the top special! Great to be back there with the family. What can you say, it is such an amazing place!
Bulters is our fall tradition- I love the fall, Mikes was always well then - its just a super special place to me and this year was no exception! The weather just slightly chilly, the sky beautiful, the kids - crazy with delight- super sweet time!

So this Fall, we've been blessed to do a vacation, some fun crafts ( the kids and I love crafts!) and fam traditions. Luke continues to plug away at school, about 7 months left! YAHHHH! (I don't think I could take much more) Braet, just finished up his first soccer season (I think he may have found his sports niche) and even scored 1 goal!! Cianne, is growing so fast, she is doing some school this year which is fun. She totally transforms for "school" I am no longer mom but become "teacher." Mikelle is our sweet lil squishy! She is totally on the move crawling everywhere, standing up, getting teeth and yes munching on Mator's food =( Yuck! Me- well I'm super busy! I'm just not sure where all the time goes, but I'm lovin these kiddos and cherish the times Luke and I get away for a date!

The "Suite" (better know as the basement) is so very close. It is amazing to see how it has come together with lots of hard work from well everyone! THANKS! Mom and Dad are well. Mom is crazy busy with work and Dad has been quite a bit better the last week. The docs have been adjusting his meds and it seems to be helping.

That would be the short (I know it was kinda lengthly) version. But I guess that would be the highlights. Enjoy the pics I know thats what your all waiting for =)

Here's Cianne!!! Wow, she's really 4! What can I say about this lil miss. She is my Firecraker, sweet and sour =)! Her imagination is exploding! Many days are spent pretending she is either a dog or a lil mommy. She's totally a lil boss and is my social butterfly! Admist all the drama of a lil princess, we love the fun and whit she brings to our home!

Thanks for all the prayer and the notes. They are still much appreciated!!

The night before Mikes b-day my dear frind brought me Cars balloons and orange flowers =) too sweet. Luke was able to take off so we spent the whole day doing some of Mikes fav things. Krispy Kreme, Chuckie Cheese and Noodles. Of course we had to watch Cars and a few home videos. It was a great day together. Many wonderful times to reflect on God's kindness and the life he gave to our dear boy.

The following week was the annual walk for Hope in DC which we were able to attend with friends and fam- it was crazy with tons of people but awesome to see the tremdous support. How we long for the day when sickness and brain tumors with no longer be!

Got a tear jerker of encouragment this afternoon...what a wonderful picture!

The other night when we went to the Brookeville Inn we stopped by the grave yard where Micah's body is buried, we left some orange carnations there. My tears flowed as I thought of this boy who brought so much joy into our world. And I thought, "Wow, he would be turning 6, learning to read & write and learning so much." But then my thoughts turned to the fact that he knows so closely the one who is the beginning and the end, the author of life and the things that he would be learning here are nothing compared to the knowledge that he attained being there. As you celebrate his birthday this week, my heart aches with you as you grieve but also rejoices with you as you are comforted by the knowledge that he is home.

Happy Birthday!

My Boy!~ How he has grown so! The last few weeks have been exciting ones for him. March 13th he won second place at the Beltsville judo comp and then last week in class he was able to climb to the top of the rope at Judo. It was great to see him make a goal he had set for himself =)He's starting baseball and finshing his first piano book! He's really growing! But the things Luke and are are most excited about is his growth in the Lord. We love him so, he's def our deep thinker and likes to chat and read late into the night. He loves his sisters and is continually learning to be kind and patient with Cianne (aka our Firecraker!)But for the most part they play really well together and its a joy to watch. =)

Sat we did a lil surprise b-day for him and well he was so surprised he didn't know what to say, I don't think he had a category for surprise party until then =) It was a great day and Luke and Cam worked hard (and played hard) to have fun games for the kiddos. It's hard to beleive he's 8!! He's grown so fast it makes me feel old.

A few days ago, Cianne, Mikelle and I were at the store attempting to get errands done. The cashier asked Cianne is she like her baby sister... CC- grinned and smiled at MJ then looked at me, "Yes" and then came the But... "but she's boring!"

Poor kiddos, mom has gone a lil trigger happy with the camera. Its been fun- for me!! One of the best presents Ever! They are only this lil for such a short time!

Things are going well here. Lil MJ and I are doing great and what a blessing to have Luke home for the week, he's doing a lil work from home and hoping to catch up on some school work (we'll see if that happens =). At least now he can have a late night study buddy- or as we call her, "our sweet distraction!"

She had her first check up on Mon and is now a whopping 5 lbs 13 oz. Its been wonderful just hanging out together with all the fam (the snow helped with that!). Mom just went back to work on Mon . We so enjoyed her being snowed in last week!

We're enjoying the visits, yummy meals and hanging out with the kiddos. The kids had their first sleep out in mommy& daddy's room last night with sister- this went surprisingly well. And sister only woke up once!!! Fun for mommy- sleep- oh what a gift!

Braet has his first judo comp this weekend, which he is very excited about but other than that not much happening here. It's been a nice time to slow down, I think I could hold lil miss all day, that is if I can pry her away from Braet =)

This is so the only way to do snow, snuggled in with the fam!

Braet & CC in the lobby of the hospital. There were so jazzed to meet sister but they can't even come in =( Two very sad kiddos. Hopefully we'll be home later today.

So Sweet!!!

So here's how it all went down. Luke was on his way out to shovel on Wed night night. I said don't bother, were not going anywhere tonight (boy was I wrong!!). The induction had been canceled for Wed night and Thursday morning (Braet and I were by far the most disappointed) and the few contractions I had been having that day were no different than the ones I'd been having for the last 2 months. So I feel asleep watching the Caps game and then a few hours later in the middle of a sound sleep, I jumped out of bed and called to Luke, "My water broke!" We were both surprised to say the least and sprung into action, bags, camera, make up of course and Cammy went to shovel (sweet boy). Thank the Lord for 4 wheel drive. Cam drove us to the hospital and then we waited and waited and waited some more. Eventually they started petocin I opted for an epidural- such a gift from God! And before we knew it she was here!! I feel great and she is just precious! Still surreal!

The story on her name, well Mikelle is the feminine form of Micah, need we say more =) Braet nicknamed Micah, "Micah J" so lil lady's initials are MJ. We love it, it honors our boy and speaks of the joy we want to continually know in the Lord!

Baby News

Induction is finally scheduled!!! The orignal plan was to go into Shady Grove on Wed night and have the induction in Thurs morning but with the impending Snow--- it has now changed to Thursday morning~ hopefully that will hold, I can't wait to meet her!

We would so appreciate your prayers, many of you have already communicated that you are praying. So specifically prayers for a smooth deliever and a healthly lil one. Also peace for my heart, I'm sure the birth of this lil princess will bring a flood of emotion. A gladness and a joy no doubt =) but I'm sure it will also at times be a struggle for the boy we miss so much and wishing he were here to celebrate with us.

It's hard to believe the time has really come, I'm not sure when it will really sink in but what a joy to share this time with you all! Thanks for your prayers, they are greatly appreciated!

SNOW!!!!

Just a lil snow!!!! I think we are at about 20" now! Cammy & Luke just dug out the driveway (B had the last shift =) and the cars just in case lil miss decided to make her entry,we're ready but induction is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Feb 11th!
The kiddos made it longer than I expected in the snow and Mator loved it just as much as they did. Even though it is only 5pm I think everyone is worn out!

Back in Sept we got a flier in the mail about Judo. Braet's been wanting to do something like this for a while now so we figured we'd check it out....they have now been at it for nearly 5 months and the kiddos love it!!! They are coached by Mark Dantzler and his son Conner, just wonderful, they make a great team!

It started out with just Braet, then we got the gi (which is the uniform) Long story short... I shrank it, Braet was heartbroken, we ordered another, CC inherited Braet's, showed up for practice, Mr Dantzler asked her what her name was, CC response, "Judo master!" and well she's now a member of the team or at least their mascot! =) She looks so cute in her lil uniform, they both do! Oh how they grow up all toooooo fast! They sure look forward to Mondays which is great for the 3 of us, since Luke is home hard at work - school work!

Here's a sono pic of our lil lady! Last Tues I had a growth sono done and she is now 5.8lbs (over a pound bigger than CC when she was born!!)

This is the first 3D sono that I have had and I loved it- the pic was precious! Even though there are some shadows you can still see her lil face and her hand nestled up next to her cheek. The tech even said she has hair!

Maw, I was hoping she would be born on your birthday, the 29th, but I guess she have to be your belated gift =)

Hopefully she'll be here soon, I'm ready!!!

Thanks friends! How can we ever thank you enough for your time, your care and your prayers! We will never tire of thanking you or trying to thank you for all you've done, and that's the reason for this post.

While the 16th of Jan may not be very significant for you, it is a day forever etched in our minds. It started out normal, what's that =) Dressed, breakfast and Daddy had a day off work, but Mikes wasn't well and Luke called our pediatrician (we'd been in constant contact trying to figure out what was up with our lil man), upon his recommendation we were off to Shady Grove for an CT scan. The CT revealed Mikes tumor.

It was that day that our lives forever changed. Our hearts raced, tears streamed, we were whisked away to Children's National. Our dear friend Solomon Campbell dropped his work and came to drive me to the hospital. Not only were we on the way but Luke's parents and my parents were to meet for lunch- they were on the way as well as our pastor, Joe Lee,who beat us there. What a comfort to our hearts~ our fam, pastor and friends-there to pray with ,cry with, sit with - just being with us in our time need.

Never under estimate just being there! In the midst of our suffering you were and still are a means of grace and comfort. Forever Grateful!!

A Shower for lil Lady

What a fun night with the Ladies! The girls in my Care Group usually do a "diaper" shower for anyone expecting so I thought they were probably up to something for our ladies night out. But they surprised with a bunch more, not only were the ladies from my CG there but also mom and some other special friends. It was really a wonderful time! I love appetizer foods and these ladies made a spread like no other and Jenny's chocolate cake was heavenly =) Not only were there diapers but gifts for lil lady, adorable clothes, lotion for me and a special monitor I was wanting. It was a great time. I don't think the impact hit me until later though.

It has been a tough pregnancy (but I'm so grateful to be pregnant) and getting to this point has not come easily. There has been much trial and heartache, with losing our boy and two miscarriages- Oh, heaven is already full for us! Yet God has been faithful and one of his kindness to us is fam and friends to make this journey through the joys and sorrows of life with us. That night was one of such joys to share with fam and friends, a time to celebrate once again! Thanks to so many for your prayers for this lil one and ladies thanks for such a special night to celebrate and continue to journey with us, what a blessing it was!

Looking forward to introducing lil Lady hopefully soon! 34 weeks and counting!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Well its hard to believe that another year is Here!!! My apologies for the lack of Christmas cards- its a long story but the short version is- I ran out of stamps , went to a store , forgot them- then the next one didn't have them and finally ordered them and they came to late. But the good news it that we are looking forward to sending out baby announcements in the near future!

This year seem faster than last year! I know I say it all the time- but truly where does the time go! Luke is currently in Key West with work ( We are enjoying the 20s and him the 60 degree weather- rough week to be there but he sure does work hard though)! Anyway I was looking at pics to send with him before he left which was spurred on by his question to the fam on New Years, he was asking us highlights from the year and what we were looking forward in 2010. So here's a few:

* A surprise party for Nana's 50 and we actually surprised her!

* Added a puppy to our # of 8. In celebration of Micah's birthday we added a Wheatie puppy to our fam. He is affectionately named Mator, we joke that we should have named him something more astute because he kind acts like Mator from Cars. The fam loves him and well he is amazing simply because he puts up with Cianne who likes to "snuggle" him, cover him with blankets and yes, drag him around by his leash.

* A wonderful trip to Indiana to visit great Grandma, a precious time!

* Found out we were expecting in June! In Oct found out a lil girl- who knew!! Luke got it right!

* Brandon turned the big 21. My baby brother is now 21!

The Latest Laugh
* I'm sure you all saw the spray painting pic of me. Well another laugh on me was this year at Luke's co Christmas party. The scenes was Clyde's in DC- if you know me, I'm not a city girl! Which was evident by where I parked my car- why didn't I just park in the parking garage. Well I'm cheap, thought I could save a few $!! Never again! There were four signs on the street and I guess I didn't read them all well- we came out of the restaurant and I called Luke, "The van is gone!" Yes towed- a courteous tow they called it. So after driving around for nearly an hour the van was found- $100 later, I should have parked in the Parking Garage!!!

* And we are all anticipating the meeting our new lil girlie in Feb 2010!! 33 weeks and still haven't settled on a name- but we're closer!

The list could go on of God's faithfulness in our lives. How wonderful it to recount, how it builds our faith and brings hope to our hearts!

It's so hard to believe it's Fall! I think this has to be one of my fav times of the year and this year we have something extra special to celebrate......

that's right! We are expecting a lil girl, Lord willing, this Feb! I went for my sono and I must say I was truly surprised to learn that this lil one was a girl. I wasn't so sick with Cianne but not so so for this baby, so I was sure it was a boy! Luke was right, he called it for Cianne and this lil one! We don't have any names right now, but will keep you posted.

Your prayers for a healthy baby and pregnancy would be greatly appreciated!

My Baby and Big Kid turned 31 today! I know its hard for me to believe too! I still remeber the boy in the band all those years ago =) and Sept will be 9 years for us- 9 wonderful years. What a blessing to wake up to my best friend for this long- I pray for many, many more years.

Luke, you have blessed us so much by your love, tender care and sacrifice, your fam is so very grateful for you! May the coming year bring you much joy, and much grace as you journey on in life and godliness.

For your prayers and the notes and emails from dear friends- the beautiful orange bouquet delivered to our hotel room- it all meant so very much and your prayers were answered. Sat the 25th was a day of grace anew. We started the day with choc milk and choc doughnuts. We watched home videos and the slide show the Lees made for us for Mikes memorial service. Then Luke led us in reading stories we loved to read to our dear boy and still love to read to the lil ones (I know Braet 7- but he's still my lil one!)- one of my favorites is from the Jesus Story Book Bible where Jesus clams the storm- (how many times does he calm the storm in me). And then we sang the favorite songs, prayed and cried. There were tears of sadness intermixed with tears of gladness. Sadness for the obvious reasons, we miss our Micah Man and our lives are forever changed- Gladness for our Micah is no longer in the anguish and pain that he knew many days of his little life, gladness that our lives our forever changed , and much gladness for our Saviour, Jesus Christ, that one day we will spend forever with our Saviour and with our boy; creating memories for eternity.

Tomorrow we leave for Vacation! And I must say this is one we've been looking forward to for a long time. Wanna know why?.....

Well first we have the opp to bless our kiddos by surprising them tomorrow morning with a trip to Hershey Park (I know - fun =) don't tell them!) and from there we will travel to a beach in Maine. I know as if that weren't reason enough to be jazzed about this trip- but it gets better. We will be spending this trip with our dear friends Katie & Adam, they're getting Married! And both Cianne and Braeton have the honor of being in their wedding (no only do we have the privilege of being quests- but we also get to shoot the wedding)! For those of you who don't know about Katie and Adam...

Katie worked as the Volunteer & Events Coordinator at Children's Hospital (she's now studying to be a nurse). She's one of those cheerleader types (but without the froo froo fuss =) bubbly, high energy and tons of heart. I still remember the day we meet Katie, we were "In House" at Children's (Mikes was being treated) and Katie had scheduled the Dogs to preform in the playroom for the kids. It was a great day and God had just blessed us with a great new friend. Katie came to visit us each and every day she worked (and since we were there ALOT, we spent much time together). She took Braet on coffee/tea dates, to lunch and he even pal'd around with her and the DC United boys. She brought gifts for B-days and Christmas, coloring books, play dough, finger paint. She was there for many surgeries, she even beat us to the recovery room for his second brain surgery. We didn't know where they had moved him but when we found him Katie was already there reading to him. I don't know if I can even describe the comfort and joy that brought as a mom, that Katie was there with him so that he wasn't so scared.

Then there was her boy, Adam. What can I say a match made in Heaven. The first time Mikes met him, he hid under the blanket until Adam offered him his cell phone to play with. You'd often see Adam toting a kid or our gear, he always just jumped right in. It didn't take long before he had won the kids hearts too.

So we're spending the week with our precious kiddos, at a gorgeous place, celebrating the marriage of dear friends and then there is one more highlight... Katie & Adam choose the day before Mikes went to be with Jesus as their wedding day and we are so honored. This coming weekend we will get to be with our lil ones (who are not so lil anymore) and dear friends as we celebrate and remember the life God gave Micah. And the life that he lives now free from pain and suffering where one day because of the cross of Christ and the forgiveness of our sin- we will join him forevermore. So while this 2 year marker will be mingled with sorrow and joy,we have Hope and we press on for that which is unseen.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Thanks for the notes on the blog and the Care Pages, the calls, the emails. I have found them particularly comforting and encouraging. We'd also covet your prayers for this weekend for comfort and for joy. Our hope is that our hearts will be encouraged as we remember and full of joy as we anticipate. Thanks for your prayers !

Mikey's B-day

There were no posts on my lil mans b-day this year (April 28) but that didn't mean we didn't celebrate =) We sought to have a grand day, first is started with one of Micah's favs, doughnuts and chocolate milk (another fav breakfast for him was Kashi- I know can you believe it!- but we figured we'd go with doughnuts for Braet & CC this year). The day was filled with many ups and downs. I'm not really sure what I was anticipating, but I found that this years B-day celebration was much harder than last years. We wanted the time to be filled with memories of our boy, doing fun things that he loved and anticipating a time yet to come.

Yet one of the highlights was the end of the evening, each year we purchase the kiddos a small gift for Micah's B-day and this year we were able to do something extra special.... we gave them a bag with an orange doggie toy. That's right for their new doggie, we told the kids we would soon be purchasing them a puppy. We'd been contemplating this decision for a while, Mikes loved dogs, Brandon loves dogs and Braet & Cianne have been asking for one for quite sometime. Another reason this was so special was that it was from Micah- or rather Micah's college fund that his great grandma had started for him (Thanks so much, grandma!). Over the last year we used a portion of this money to buy a special blanket for Braeton (one with pics of him and Micah on it) and now we were able to use the remainder of Mikes fund to again bless the children in a way that we could not afford to have done.

So just a few weeks ago we welcomed the newest addition to the Davis fam, our Wheaten Terrier puppy, named Mator. From you guessed it Cars- Mikes all time fav movie!

Mikes, thanks for all the laughs, smiles, hugs, bravery, tears and love- you still inspire us! Your family longs to be with you again!

I can't believe my lil princess is 3! What a joy she is- for sure she is my Firecracker!!! Friends of ours call their lil one Sweet and Sour (of course from our every kids fav McDonlds!) and that is a great description of our Cianne. She Great and we love watching her grow. Girlie, Mom and Dadda pray that the Lord would continue to bless you and that you would grow to serve the Lord and love Him all the days of your life!

We had a wonderful time celebrating. Luke even surprised the kiddos and took us to the indoor pool. Earlier in the week she had a tea party and a photo shoot with her BFF =) Not to mention the pink cake and strawberries. Per her request!

This post comes late, -but I really wanted to be abe to take a moment and honor this amazing woman!

On March 9th my dear mom turned 50! I know, I can't believe it either! If you were to give one word that describes my mom , many people would say she is "Sweet," but just sweet is an understatement. She is a Super Woman and can't be described in a word! A lifetime has defined her! A faithful wife and mom who has sacrificed time, energy and much sleep as she cares for others. Whether that care be through service or prayers, she is a gem to our family and many others. Mom you exemplify, perseverance, tenacity and a tender spirit (which I truly hope to grow in). We are so grateful for 50 years and hope for many more.

Mishap with Spray Paint

Do we really need an explination. How did this happen?! I can't beleive it!!! I guess when Luke said I should buy a mask I should have- darn me for being so cheap- thought we had them at home!! So a was spray painting the rafters in the basement. You know going for a industrail look. Anyway I was way to ambishoious, we wanted to put in mom and dad's laundry rm while they were away at Lukes parents- who knew how much work went into such a small rm. So I was hoping to get a lil more done while Luke was out, I came up to wash my hands- Braet even saw me and said nothing.... I washied my hands, looked in the mirror and scared myself (Cam too when I ran to his rm) my face was black!!! Instant shower and scubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing and well a lil eye buring and presto- good as new. By the way I just need a few more cans or paint, =)my adventure for the night! One of the most stupid things I've ever done. Hope you enjoy the laugh on me.

~ Trying to get a fam photo last min for Christmas. So much for the nice outdoor one I was invisioning- it was freezing! As you can see we had fun anyway, it was short, warm and sweet!

Dear Friends & Family
We hope this note finds you well and enjoying this Christmas season. The year here has been full. In God’s kindness we were able to purchase a home. Many of you may remember it was a “short sale,” which is anything but short so after 6 months of waiting to hear if the bank accepted our offer we were able to move in. We signed the papers in June. And yes, we are all still together with room for everyone! Thank the Lord. Our Care Group & friends helped move us in and well put alot of hard work into the house. They painted, riped up carpet and wood floors, took trips to the dump, cut grass, patched walls, sanded, painted, painted and painted some more! We couldn't have done it without them. Our casa is truly their casa. Speaking of it is great to be able to open our home more.
It is hard to believe, Brandon turned 20 (Dec 17), Cameron celebrated 21, Braet will be seven soon, Cianne is 2 going on 16, my Lukey hit the big 30 and Dad celebrated a golden 50. I can’t describe what a joy it is to be together. The kiddos are wonderfully precious. We love watching the boys run around with Braet & CC and we just can’t imagine life without Mom & Dad and the boys. It is a wonderful, full, crazy household! And that is an understatement! Cam & Brandon are working so hard at their classes and are so thankful for the break. Homeschooling is going well, I can't believe my little boy is in first grade. God has been so gracious, I love having him home. What a joy to watch him learn.
As we approach Christmas, it is well with our souls. We miss our Mikes very much, I am sure we always will and sometimes it will be harder than others. Like at Christmas time. Yet, in God’s kindness, there is a peace and joy that didn’t exist last year. We know we have a wonderful treasure in Heaven with our Lord~ our dear lil boy and we are so thankful the for our treasures here too, like our wonderful fam, friends and church. There's this song I love- it says, "The saints above join with the saints below rejoicing in the Risen one," I can almost see Mikes singing and dancing along with us! There is much hope and comfort. Our hope and comfort as well as a longing for Heaven is growing stronger each day- each year. God speed the day!

Thanks for your many prayers, we are so very grateful for them. They are felt as God works in our hearts and carries us on. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

One of my fav Christmas traditions is painting our own wrapping paper or gift bags. Thankfully it has happened each year and this year is no exception. The bags range from well cute to lets just say "creative." But each person who opens a gift that has been hidden in them knows is was a work of love whether it be cute or creative.

This family night was Backwards Night- the kids dressed backwards and yes we ate dessert first then breakfast. As you can imagine the kiddos didn't eat much "breakfast." I think backwards night is by far their favorite theme for Family Night- I can't imagine why!?

This post was supposed to make it out on Thanksgiving but well it didn't. Isn't not that there aren't items to post- stories to tell, I starts drafts again and again -just sometimes the words don't come. So I have a pile of drafts and today with a spare min I thought, I must sit and write.

I think the thought would be "life is hard, but God is good," might capture a small picture of the last few weeks. Thanksgiving was good, good to be with family and celebrate together yet Thanksgiving was hard with tears threatening to drop most of the day. Even though there is so much to be grateful for holidays are vivid reminders that our precious Micah is no longer with us. And while I am not sad for him, since he is truly healed now, there are times that for me the sorrow rushes on like a flood.

My sorrow has also been compounded as our friends lil baby, Alivia, went to be with the Lord early November. Oh we grieve with them and yet we are so deeply inspired by them. They too encourage our heart as they grieve with ones who have much hope. This dear couple, Dave & Heather, made meals for us, wrote letters and emails and prayed for us as ~ well for so long ~ as we cared for our boy and well our lil ones are together with Jesus. We now pray for comfort and strength them.

I can almost here Micah telling Alivia, "Wook at tat, wook at tat," as his eyes are wide with wonder at the glory he beholds at each turn.

So now as we approach "the most wonderful time of the year" even is some sadness we can truly rejoice as it is most wonderful, for Jesus was born, born to live and to die. To die for the forgiveness of sins for those who believe on him. Oh how great is our God! For now we will no longer be separated because of sin but shall spend eternity together. What a grand, grand thought!

Last Sunday was the annual MMRF Walk/Run that we participate in each year as a fam. With kids there is very lil running for us, it seems more like pulling a wagon, running after kiddos and taking a short cut here and there-we don't even time ourselves anymore =) Its always great to be together and then we celebrate afterwards with IHOP =)

Mon Night at the Green Turtle<

Mon was great- getting there was a bit rocky though. First much confusion and chaos at the Mc Donald's drive through window, then there was the going the wrong way- u-turn next was the ticket by the State Trooper (who looked old enough to be my baby brother). We were driving on expired tags since July!!! I don't even remember getting a note about this! And then the wrong way again but we finally made it! It was great to see everyone, especially the Lowes, they are such a wonderful family!

So then was the raffle, Luke gave Braeton 3 ticket s to put in any raffle he choose. We put a bunch in an overnight stay and well Braet is the one who won! What a blessing! He won a bat and 2 balls signed by the Oriole Brian Roberts . He was so excited! And then to top it off Mr Brewer heard that he wanted to hit the ball with the signed bat so his brother graciously gave Braet a pro wooden bat that he could hit with- so very kind! I'm surprised he didn't sleep with it last night!

Fall Happenings

Shame on me for not posting earlier. There has been so many happenings to report on. I guess I can partly blame that on my laptop dying and my desktop not being setup- I've been computer hoping. No fun! I dearly missed my files- we are so spoiled by technology! We finally - by we I mean Luke =) set up the desktop and he has just hooked up the Internet -now I'm set. So hopefully I will get caught up by next week =)

Well Fall is probably my favorite time of the year. I have to learn to enjoy winter more (after Christmas I'm done with the cold!) Anyway, Mikes was always well in the fall and we have such special memories being together. One of our yearly traditions is Bulters Orchard's Pumpkin Festival, which we love. I actually like to go there twice, once to the festival and once to take pics of the kids! So far we've only gone once this year but I'm working on the second. We also were able to go to a corn maze in DE with the Davis- lots of fam fun!! The kids loved Bulters. Braet chose to do the Pumpkin Chunkin- for those of you who don't know this is a large cannon thing that fires pumpkins out and well Cianne chose the pony rides. It was good time together. We were so suprised at how uch Cianne lived the ponies. We are also enjoying the new house! There are awesome trails to walk and the woods are beautiful.

We recently celebrated Cameron's 21st, and Sherri's 30th ?! =) Where did the time go!

As many of you are aware, the Lowe family has been going through quite a trial over the last few years, and more specifically the last few months. Matt had recent surgery to remove a brain tumor, but is still dealing with the effects. With medical costs adding up, we are seeking to do all we can to help them out with medical bills. Matt and Helen have 5 wonderful children, and are expecting their 6^th child in late November.This coming Monday, October 27^th, friends of the Lowes will be hosting a fundraiser in their honor at the Greene Turtle Restaurant in Columbia, MD. The Greene Turtle will be giving 10% of the all the proceeds for the entire day back to Matt and Helen. So simply coming in and having lunch or dinner will help in the fundraiser. In addition, we will be having a raffle throughout the day to raise more money for them. The gifts range from restaurant gift cards, a framed redskins jersey, golf packages, Wii bundle package and photography packages.

The location of the Columbia Greene Turtle is 8872 McGaw Road, Columbia, MD 21045. The Greene Turtle has a large restaurant area that is family friendly, so feel free to bring the family. Matt and Helen will be there for most of the day, and I know they would love to see you all there!

Fun at Granny Joyce & Papa Joe's

This week we are in York, Sc; the town I was born in- visiting dear friends actually we call them family. Luke is off to the Keys for work so he drove the kids and I down on Sat (Miss you Love) . My parents meet Joe & Joyce when my dad first pastored here in the early 80's and well we've loved them every since. SC is a special place to us, my grandparents lived here for a number of years and many special friends from Cornerstone (the church here) are still here. I got to visit the church this past Sunday and Mom and Dad, those that are still there from when daddy pastored were still singing your praises. Oh how they love and miss you guys! Thanks for investing so much.

What special memories SC holds for me, it is such a nice place to come back to. Thanks Joe & Joyce for your southern hospitality. I love sitting on the porch sipping ice tea, eating yummy pies and visiting with old friends.

We also got to meet lil Micah. Joe & Joyce nephew Brian and his lovely wife Kimberly named their lil boy in after our lil man. What an honor! How it has blessed us. The kiddos have loved playing with him this week, just hearing his name, giving him nicknames, tickling and squeezing him! What a blessing especially for my Braeton. Brian and Kimberly thank so much! Can't tell you how much it means. May the Lord continue to bless you and that lil man!!

All week long it has been a field trip!! The kids have tremendously enjoyed their time. Last night I asked Braet what were some of his favorites things this week, to which he replied," Fishing, eating oatmeal cream cookies (who knew) and having an indoor picnic with Micah & Cianne on a rainy day. CC on the other hand has loved the barn and the Popsicles! Each morning when she wakes up she wants to go to the barn, see the doggies and eat a Popsicle.

We love our new home and the fact that it backs up to the woods is wonderful!!! The only down side is the snakes (thank the lord we have only found 1 baby one- oh I hate snakes!!!!)

School Days, School Days

Well it looks as if almost all the guys in our house are going back to school...

~Cameron is off to Maryland, he has a year 1/2 left of mechanical engineering

~Brandon is finishing up at Montgomery College and then will apply for Maryland, he is studying Criminal Justice

~Braeton is entering first grade--- toothless (he just lost his second front tooth- you should hear him talk!! I again have the privilege of homeschooling him~ look forward to another year with you, son!

~ and well Luke was chosen by SAIC (his work) and then accepted by George Washington to pursue his Masters!! He is very excited for this opportunity to get his Master for free. I don't think Braet quite shares his Dadda's excitement over school!!

It is so neat to see the way God has provided for the guys. Both Brandon and Cameron have gotten more scholarship money than they had anticipated. One story of God's faithfulness to provide: At the beginning of the summer Cameron's truck died and needed a new engine, it would be cheaper for him to replace the engine rather than to replace a car. So a long story short he was a bit disheartened that would mean that all the money he would make this summer would go to fixing his car and then he would still have to pay for the summer class he took. Well in God's kindness Cameron got enough money to pay for all of this Fall semester and money to pay off the summer class he took!! Isn't that cool! B's semester is also paid for and well so is Luke's, how wonderfu to watch God provide!

Labor Day Weekend

Well we have a lil running tradition of camping on Labor Day weekend but this year Brandon has a part in the Acts play at Covnant Life Church. This is the same play he participated in a few years ago in High school and this year the singles are performing it. I loved it then and I can't wait to go agian! So this year our annual camping trip is scheduled for the back yard!!! If it rains we'll run to the house =)

Flowers in the Feild

Here's a few photos from our morning out at Butlers Orchard, I was hoping to shoot in a sunflower field but missed"sunflower season," but this worked pretty well!

A few updates on the lil ones....

Well I guess Braet isn't so lil anymore, he is starting first grade and has lost his 3rd tooth (as you can see from the pic above). He is growing so very fast. He is really enjoying the new home and meeting new friends, there are a few boys his age in the neighborhood. And, the woods have been fun for him too. In July we were able to have a really late birthday party for him (I know his b-day was in March!!!) but I had promised him a party with his friends. So that lil party was the first time we were able to use the home in such a way! A campout in the back yard, fire pit for marshmallows, treasure hunting with Dadda. It was great!! It went so well maybe next year we'll celebrate in July too!!

Cianne, my little princess, tom-boy, who loves dresses and dirt... what gifts these two are. The other week when I was putting Cianne to bed she had a song request I haven't heard before...." Sing Mikey's song, momma." I wondered what she was talking about, so I started singing Holy God ( their bedtime song) but that wasn't it, my next guess was Mike's fav, "My God is so Great" and that's what she meant. It was so precious, I think it is quickly becoming one of her favorites too. It is great to hear her sing so enthusiastically ( like her brothers) and a riot all at the same time to watch her facial expressions! Another Mikes story from Girlie, I guess Cianne has seen pics of Micah in his Mickey pjs and Braet has a pair as well, so a few nights ago after baths I had laid them out for Braet -but CC beat him to them and was insistent on wearing Micah's shirt =)

Mom always says that Micah & Cianne remind her of the story of Elijah and Elisha in the way that the Lord said if Elisha was there when he ascended the mantel of Elijah would pass on a double portion to Elijah. Well, girlie reminds us so much of Mikes at times that sometimes it is like Cianne must have received a "double Micah mantle" ~

We love these lil stories because girlie was so lil when Mikes passed that I wonder if she'll remember him, but in God's kindness, He has given us these moments.

Well this is a work weekend, Luke & the boys have been laying flooring for the last few days, just a quick break for me to post - back to work! =)

Luke, your family is so grateful for you~ and not that 30 is old or anything, but I do look forward to growing old with you! Each day, each year puts us closer- closer to that day- the day we will meet our Saviour,the one who paid for all of our sins and purchased our eternity with Him.

What a grand day that will be, until then however, I look forward our future together. The sorrow is making us us stronger and our love for each other and the fam sweeter. How we Celebrated...
With some of Mikey's Fav Things

Thursday night my Luke came home from work, we had decided to get cheese pizza and watch Cars. Well Dad treated us to pizza and then came dessert... brownies and rootbeer. Mikey loved his "robeer"- rootbeer and "pesii"- pepsi. So we junked out with Mikes favs and sang songs as the movie played, I think we could quote the movie line by line. Then off to a late bed, with of course story time, more songs and prayers. That night Braet led us in a loud, long version of "My God is So Great" and then he prayed. What precious time to hear as he poured his heart out to Jesus, thanking him for his brother and for Heaven, "that Micah is no longer sick, has no more tears and will live forever." I love those two lil peanuts!!!

The next morning was Fri the 25th, Luke was able to take of work and be with us~ what a blessing! We still woke up early and he spent the morning reading to me from a wonderful book entitled "From Grief to Glory" and by the time the kiddos got up Dadda had already slipped out to the store and gotten more favs doughnuts and Chocolate Milk (a staple for Mikes). Later was a picnic of Happy Meals-- yes, yes another fav- at Black Hills. This park is special to us because it was the one of the last places where our boy was well. Even though there were many tears the days were wonderful remembering memories and recounting God's faithfulness. We grieve with great hope~ Later that day Luke surprised me by taking me away for the weekend (he told me Thurs so I could pack- thanks Joe for all the help!!!- you guys got me). Mom & Dad and Mark & Jenny watch the lil ones, thanks guys!!! He took my by the grave site and then we headed to Annapolis. We were able to relax and then check out Main Street, tour a garden and our CG even blessed us with a goodie bag and special notes of encouragement for our trip! It was a wonderful time to be together.

Love, I am so grateful for you. You are a such a wonderful Dadda, thanks for the way you lead & love us! Also thanks for all the surprises they were such a fun treat, especially this past weekend!

Wonderful Praise

First of all thank you for all the ways you have cared for our family - we can say with gratefulness that we have experienced the love of God through so many.

Some of you may or may not know that a few weeks ago my mom, Rita, was in the hospital with a strep infection in her blood (my mom has also been heroically battling multiple myeloma for 8 years now). During this time one of her kidneys stopped working so she was having to do dialysis 3 times a week. The doctors told her that she could potentially have to be on dialysis the rest of her life. But last week I talked with my dad - they found out that my moms kidneys have returned to normal functionality, which means she will not longer need dialysis! Praise God! This is only the 2nd time in 14 years that these doctors have seen this happen. What a blessing and an answer to prayer!

Yesterday morning Kriscinda had a doctors appointment and sadly they were unable to hear the baby's heartbeat. Kriscinda underwent a D&C this morning. She is feeling pretty well, just taking it easy today. As you can imagine this is very heart breaking news for us and we would appreciate your prayers. Please pray that we would continue to experience the Lord's comfort and nearness and that we would turn to our faithful and loving God and trust in his plan for us. Heaven will be a full place for our family, we have 3 babies now with Jesus, all who we long to hold.

Mikes Memorial

Saturday our dear lil Micah's Memorial was set at Brookville Cemetery. We are so grateful to have the memorial completed , it turned out much better than we'd hoped. It was a meaningful time for our fam. How we miss our lil man and long for the day when we will see him again. It was a time with tears, prayers and songs. Many wonderful memories we have and many wonderful times we will have that are yet to come~ Until then we will seek to make the most of our Micah Mans wonderful life and hope to live each day in light of that day, when we shall stand before our Saviour.

Mom's Surgery

Thanks for praying for mom today. The surgery went very well, it was longer than they anticipated because of legions of scar tissue but she is in her room now and recovering. Dad says she is pretty out of it and just needs to rest so for those of you who have asked about visiting, it would be better to wait until she returns home. One more thing is that they didn't find any cancer! Which is obviously a huge blessing!

Busy Summer Days

Well were in...kinda Its hard to know where to begin... We moved most of our things to the new home. I really wanted to finish all the painting and modifications before we moved in but running back and forth proved to be too difficult for the family. Just too many late nights that way and then we weren't able to keep up with either place! So we have a few things left at the appt. The kiddos rooms are pretty much set up just a few accessories so they can get a lil more settled and then we hope to move the rest of our things. We have had a ton of help from friends, which has made a huge difference.

My poor girlie has been a bit confused about where we live and Braet says we move alot =) (I guess the 2 moves have been a little crazy). Even though there is lots of work to be done- we are so very excited to be here. What a blessing this home is!

I truly look forward to having our home set up yet I am trying not to wish away this construction, painting, wall paper removing, and moving phase. Well maybe the wall paper removal!!

Braet went to "summer camp" the other week at church, better known as Summer Celebration. It was great! CC loved it too, we stayed for the singing some mornings. During the week they had a lessons about forgiveness, boy did the Lord use it to prepare his heart for later that day when Cianne destroyed his prize possession- his lego creation.

Well it has certainly been a whirlwind around here not exactly the relaxing summer I anticipated but just what the Lord has planned for us. I still can't believe we actuatally own this home after waiting for 6 months- it hasn't quite settled in!

I have 3 prayer requests today
1) for Rita, Luke's wonderful mom. She has been heroically battle Multiple Myeloma cancer for the last 8 years, they are in the process of switching her medicine. Please pray for her health, strength, peace and that the new meds would work well.
2) my mom, she is having her hysterectomy tomorrow at Holy Cross~ for a quick recovery and and that this surgery will be just the tune up she needed
3) for our new little one~ We are expecting! I am 12 weeks along and we are thrilled at the thought of welcoming a lil one into our home. If you would pray for peace and a healthy lil one =) Thanks!!

The last week has been pretty crazy with trying to move and renovate all at the same time! We haven't even gotten to celebrate Fathers Day yet (that comes this weekend) but in the midst of the craziness is Dad's 50th Birthday and we can't wait to celebrate!

Dad we are so grateful for you, your life and your commitment to God and you family. In the midst of hardships and sickness many of which you still face daily, I don't believe I've ever heard you complain, you may have to stop and rest, but never complain. Our New Home

It's Official!

Lord willing we will go to settlement on either the 11 or 12th of June. We now have all the paperwork and our home inspection is scheduled for Mon, the appraisal has already happened and we've locked in our rate! It really seems like things are coming together, Praise the Lord!
Thanks again for your prayers, this home will truly be a blessing for our family and hopefully a means to bless others. It has been a great season with the Alebergos and the Kovlaks, we have experienced much of life in the short time we've been together. They are forever our dear friends.

A side note we will be hosting a painting party at our new home. We will be cleaning and prepping on the 12& 13 and then painting on the 13th & 14th. And many days after that! =) ~ oh does this place need painted~ it screams late 80 early 90's! And don't worry if painting isn't your thing we can always use help on move day as well (the move date is to be determined). So if any of you are up for it painting please email or call us. We'd love the help.

10 Months of Heaven

Our baby has been gone from us for 10 months ~

We feel as if our feet our here and our hearts in Heaven. ~

God has been oh so gracious to give us strength and comfort our hearts. To fill us with grand thoughts of Heaven and Home. It is so very comforting to think of our lil man well and in the presence of Jesus.

Our Braet has struggled more in the last 2 weeks with missing his Micah J. These have been precious times for us where I hold him close, we pray, we sing one of Mikes favorite songs and we love to imagine what he might be doing today....like is he spending time with Grammy & Pappy or is he taking a walk with Noah and hearing the stories of old retold. These are gospel opportunities where we tell the old, old story of life changing truth of how Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect life to die on a cross and bear God's holy wrath so that those who believe in him as Saviour and Lord may not perish but have everlasting life with Him. This week Braet looked up into my eyes and said "Mommy, I will live for Jesus."

There is nothing I more I could ask for but eternity with the ones of love. This house (that is pending) is great and would truly be a blessing for our fam but our real treasure is each other and life beyond today. How we long to live for that day, our feet here and our hearts in Heaven.

Thanks for your continued care, your prayers as so meaningful. Can't tell you how much it blesses us when you communicate your prayers and thoughts for us. Thanks for the cards~

News on the House

Well here's the latest ...Both banks have said Yes, but we still don't have all the paperwork yet. So that's why we have been waiting to say anything. We have half of the paperwork and we have been told we will go to settlement between the 15-22nd of June~ we'll see. Huge thanks to Dave Dabbondanza and Tom McGlynn our real estate agents were have worked sooo very hard for us for such a long time, also to those of you who have been praying for us. We are excited but still apprehensive, we know that nothing is final with a "short sale" until it's done, so once again we are trying to still hold this loosely. However we are very thankful that everything seems to be coming together. We'll keep you posted.

On Monday, our friend Matt Lowe underwent brain surgery at JH to remove a tumor. He and his wife Helen have 5 children with one on the way. This couple is very near and dear to our hearts. We have been praying for peace and strength, knowing that our faithful God is ever with us to carry and comfort us.

Things have quieted down up here and I have a spare moment. Matt did very well during the surgery. He spent last night in ICU and is now in a regular room. There have been some serious praises in the last few days. The peace we have been experiencing can only be from the Lord. Matt did not have a seizure after surgery which is a huge blessing. He is very alert and even trying to care for me during this time....amazing. He has had difficulty moving his left side. I just saw him pick up his left leg so this appears to be getting better. He also just asked for coffee, so you know he must be doing well! :)The surgeon was clear that he was not able to get all of the tumor out, so we are not over this whole ordeal...but for now we are focusing on him recovering and praising God for His many mercies to us. As I look around this hospital and see so many hurting and suffering..it makes me even more grateful for the hope that we have in Christ. I can't imagine walking through this without our Savior and so many dear family and friends who are praying for us and helping to carry us through.

Walk 4 Hope

This last week has been busy. Last Mon of course we got to celebrate Mikes B-day after having the party on Sun, we did this by going to Chuck E Cheese together. Later that week we had the priviledge of going to Childrens National Medical Center and delivering the gifts from the party as well as being guests to their Volunteer Banquet (their Vol are so great!!). It was great to see everyone! Then on Sunday we joined 6000 others in DC for the Walk for Hope. It was was last min thing we decided to do with Katie and Adam but it was wonderful, a perfect day it was so beautiful, some of Mikes doc were even there and a huge team from Childrens Hospital.

A wonderful note form a wonderful friend!

I want to tell you about a conversation Daisy and I just had. It's getting dark, and she and I were taking a little walk. I pointed out one of the first stars that I saw. She asked if stars were angels. Then she said, "Do you think Micah is having a funner time than us?" I said, "Yes, I think he is because he is with Jesus and there is no more sin and no more pain and no more tears." She said, "Do you think he is snuggling with Jesus right now?"I wanted to share this with you to let you know that we remember your precious boy. AND, your family and your son have helped us think and talk more about heaven, about being with Jesus - and this is a sweet and wonderful thing!

Mikes first Birthday in Heaven! 4/28

We spent the day together. Luke was able to take off work and be with me. It rained most of the day so we decided to go to the cemetery another day. We hope the memorial stone will be in by the end of May.

The party was great on Sunday. It was wonderful to have so many friends and family there, not to mention a ton of kids. Huge thanks to the Sheffers for letting us use their home again. Thank You, Lord for not letting it rain!!! So many people made this day happen. The raffle was too fun. Thank you for all your generous gifts, both financial and all the goodies~ crayons, play dough,uno cards and more! We look forward to going to Childrens on Thursday. It was such a special time for our family~ thanks guys!!

Thoughts from Luke on Sunday~

First of all, Kriscinda and I cannot express our gratefulness enough to you all for the tremendous way you have cared for our family and continue to care for our family. I have talked with numerous people who tell us they still pray for us every day – this means so much to us - Thank you. Thank you for coming to this party to support us and celebrate Micah’s life with us – and though his life here on earth was short there is much to celebrate – and we also celebrate his new life in heaven.

This month has been very hard for us. We’ve spent quite a bit of time looking through pictures, watching videos, recounting the many wonderful memories we have a our little guy. One of the things that stand out whenever we think about Micah is how cheerful he was even on days when he felt very sick. He greeted each day full of exuberance – I can still vividly recall how would be the first one up in the morning rocking his pack n play back and forth doing his Indian Chant and yelling Gooood Morniiiiiiing! He has taught us so much - through Micah we have learned how to seek the Lord and to fully depend on Him for the strength and comfort we so desperately need and not just during times of trial. We have learned how precious life is, that children truly are a blessing from the Lord. We have also experienced an increased longing for heaven and things of the Lord. As we were going through pictures and video, the hardest ones for us to watch are the ones that reminded us of Micah’s sickness. It is difficult to imagine the hardships he had to endure but we do know that God gave him a special grace as is evidenced by the peace and joy he displayed on a consistent basis. And now our hearts are comforted knowing that Micah is no longer experiencing any pain or suffering and that he is instead right now experiencing the fullness of joy in the presence of our God and Father. And because Christ hung on the cross and suffered in our place for our sin – we too will soon experience the fullness of joy and will weep no more for every tear will be wiped away from our eyes and we will be in our true home with our loving Lord and our precious little boy. That day cannot come soon enough – yet we know God has a plan and a purpose for us for the remaining days we have here and we want to be faithful to continue on, clinging to the hopes and promises we have held so dear. So today we celebrate Micah’s life – grateful for the blessing of those three years, grateful for all that has been accomplished through his life and grateful for all that God will continue to accomplish through his life. Thanks to you Micah we have great desire for Heaven and Home.

1st Annual Micah Memorial B-day Bash

Sunday the 27th will be our 1st Annual Micah Memorial Birthday Bash and we are so looking forward to being together with everyone to celebrate our Micah Man!

This year Luke & I will be holding a raffle at the 1st Annual Micah Memorial Birthday Bash. The benefits will go to some of our fav places (Children's National Medical Center, Make A Wish & Give Kids the World). This year the majority of the proceeds will be given to Children's National Medical Center, specifically the Hematology/ Oncology Unit (where Mikes was) and also Doctor Bear’s Toy Closet (which provides gifts to the children for their Birthday & Christmas, crafts to do, crayons, movies to watch– it makes life at the hospital much better!). This raffle will in a sense be a small memorial to our Micah. A tangible way to remember his amazing little life, a way for us as a family to never forget and to give back what was generously given to us.

Luke has been looking through videos today, deciding which one to post next and well we had Micah Moments. How we miss him! And the videos just bring it all back. What a lil treasure. Oh how I want to treasure Braeton and CC all the more, even the hard times- like tonight after her bath when she covered her face and hair in apple sauce~ bath time again ( I know it wasn't very bright to do bathes before dinner!)
We had a cry and just sat together for a while (this is when CC was doing the apple sauce thing!), then Luke prayed for us. He is so wonderful to hold me and help me, remind my heart of the truth. It was a sorrowful evening for me, for us all. Thank the Lord it is coupled with hope, joy and faith (how could I not laugh at my little girl who has her brothers button nose- with apple sauce up her nose) lest we be overcome with sorrow.
The thought of Heaven and our lil man totally healed brings so much peace and longing, how could I wish his return. No, we will go to him instead! It is at these moments where the cross of Christ grows infinitely bigger in my eyes. Oh, He has paid a way for my eternity. Undeserving and yet saved because of Christ's death. The cross has never been so dear as it has become this year.
I love the song the Glories of Calvary by Steve and Vikki Cook. One line goes... "and your saints above join with your saints below rejoicing in the Risen Lamb". I can just imagine Mikes singing to Jesus above while we are below. My heart is filled with thoughts, with reminders that this world which seems forever is not my true home and one day when my days are complete I will go to another~ the one my heart longs for. Until then there is work to be done~

Thank you for your prayers, I have received emails and just people coming up and sharing that they are praying for us. Thanks for remembering us, our family and our little man!!

I love these video clips, I often check my own blog page just to watch them again and again, to look at photos of these precious little ones and recount God's faithfulness through this journey~hope your enjoying them as much as we are.

I have been greatly enjoying planning Micah's lil party. What sweet memories it brings! We are going to have the party at our dear friends and pastors home, Erik & Jerusha Sheffer. For those of you who celebrated with us last year you'll remember I gave out the wrong directions- this year I'll make sure you get the correct ones. The party will beSun, 27th from 1:00-4:00 (as we have a meeting later). We will have snack foods, drinks and cake.

Also Fairfield Inn & Suites in Germantown is generously donating a 2 night stay to be raffled off! The benefits of this will go to Children's Hospital. We are also working on a few other items. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1.oo per ticket. If any of you have ideas for our small raffle or know someone who wants to donate an item please feel free to contact Luke or I.
As far as gift, just having you share this time with us is a gift enough, but if you would like to bring a small item to donate such as crayons, play dough or Uno cards, Children's is always in need of these.

April 28th is our Micah Man's birthday, so we will be celebrating his grand life this month in special ways. And one way that we will do that is to share video clips of our sweet boy.

1st T-Ball Game

Today was a busy day! First a field trip to a Dairy Farm. The farm was well a farm. I thought girlie would love it but most of the time she walked around going...uh while she had her hand at her nose (she doesn't like things that smell bad!). She seemed to enjoy seeing the cows from a distance, running around and eating ice cream. Braet always loves being with his friends but the farm wasn't his fav field trip. The baby cow he was feed spit milk all over him (don't ask how- I have no idea!) and while climbing a fence by the field he managed to get poop on himself and they both fell in the mud!! Showers for sure!!!

Home just in time to head out to his first t-ball game. He loved it! Nana joined us to cheer him on, talk about organized chaos! They were so cute in their little uniforms and Braet hit and fielded pretty well for a rookie! He is also getting to play with his buddy Jack, these two are quite a pair! The boys are on the Red Sox's team and the coach graciously let Braet be #9. Here's a few pics from the game!

An Email from a Friend~
I was subbing in Judah (Children's Ministry) on Sunday, and in the Israel/Judah assembly, they were teaching about Stephen and asking the kids for examples of courageous people in their lives. They defined it as doing what you know is right even if you are afraid and it doesn't work out the way you planned. The kids didn't really get it and kept telling stories of people who had passed away. One of the Stoy boys (I think Andrew) said something like, "There was a little boy in this church who went to be with the Lord, and his name was Micah." Then Joshua Quinn chimed in, "Yeah, I know that boy! He was one of my best fwiends!" It was so sweet. Then the teacher interpreted that it took courage for Micah to go to be with the Lord and for these young boys to lose their friend. Just wanted you to know that Micah is often thought of and that his little life made lasting impressions even on our smallest ones. Love you! Mieke

Thanks for all your prayers on our behalf for our hearts and the home we put on offer on. Today that offer has been Accepted!!! =) Yeaaaaa!

Okay there is a but to this and that is.... that is since the second bank took soooo long to decide the first bank has shut our folder. Hopefully all that will need done is a call made to the first bank to re-open the folder and submit our paper work. If everything irons out well the thought is that we should go to settlement at the end of April. We are of course very excited yet a little hesitant, settlement isn't here yet. We still have to get the paper work together, a home inspection and so forth. We would appreciate your continued prayers for our hearts and that the rest of this would go smoothly.

I'm ready to start painting! =) Okay don't get ahead of yourself!

Today is also a special day for Luke & I ~ it was this day 8 years ago when my Love and I first talked about our relationship, two days later he asked me to begin a courtship/dating thing with him and it's been wonderful!. We still have not heard anything about the home we put an offer on. Dave Dabbondanza (our Realest agent) had a round table discussion yesterday with some of his Realtors and the thought is that we may not get this home because the second bank stands to loose so much money and the fact that they haven't contacted us. Dave and Tom have been working very hard on our behalf, there is alot of phone tag trying to get a hold of the other realtor and the bank (I guess it isn't really phone tag- because Dave is the only one playing).

Anyway last night I was very tempted to despair, we have waited so long for this home, there is little we can afford it seems, at least as nice at that house and now we could be back at square 1. I'm so ready to be settled in a home (so much is in storage! I think I packed too much but who knew!). Luke and I are praying and this morning I feel like there is much more faith. Not in this home but in the Lord and that this place is not our true home, we are just passing through.

We would love to own this home yet if that home is not the Lords' will for us, we don't want to be there. If you could please pray for direction, clarification, favor with this bank if that's the Lord's will and wisdom. My parents are also waiting on this home, we know the Lord will provide for both of us in his time. Please pray for the Lord to guard and direct our hearts. To remember the truth, that where the Lord guides he will always provide and that none of his plans can be thwarted.
Also huge thanks to the Kovlaks and Alebergos for taking us in =) You guys are great, we couldn't have asked for better places to stay! Thanks for you hospitality!

On this day 6 years ago our little boy was born! How grateful we are for you!

It is hard to believe we have a 6 year old, we are beginning to feel old =) The time has flown and I only aniticipate it will continue to go faster!

Breaton, what a blessing you are to momma and daddy. We are so thankful you are a part of this family. Mommy loves to watch you play with girlie and chase dadda. I love to hear you talk about your Micah J, and I love to hear you pray. I love how you help me cook, and how you serve by cleaning up, I love your generous heart. You have been a gift to us right from the start! We love You!

Easter Monday

Happy Easter,

We hope your Easter celebration was a wonderful remembrance of our Saviour who died for our sins yet rose again, conquering death, hell and the grave.
Holidays are always difficult for me as last year I had another little helper dying eggs, opening our Reassertion Eggs, searching for Easter baskets, shoveling chocolate, singing in the living room and well the list goes on. Yet in my sadness of missing our little man there is no greater comfort, no greater joy than to think of and ponder the cross. To know Micah is alive and well, not so very far from here and one day because of our trust in Jesus Christ as our saviour we will be with him again. I love the song that goes..."The saints above join with the saints below, rejoicing in the risen Lamb" and many times as we sing I picture Micah singing and dancing too. I love to read of Heaven and remember that this life is short, my we live for another...

And this year they are doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The times and dates are listed below. It should be great so if you have a free evening this could be fun for the fam!

The 10:31 Youth Ministry of Covenant Life presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a Broadway musical based on the biblical story of Joseph. Performances will be held on the following dates and times (doors open a half hour before showtime):

Home Schooling

On March 6th, California banned Home Schooling. Usually I wouldn't have a post asking for you to sign a petition. But as a home school parent, obviously I strongly believe in our constitutional right to home school. I love having my kiddos here with me and at this point in Braeton's life we believe it is the best place for him . He's a great student and completing all his curriculum. I just can't imagine having that taken away from us based on one family as the courts have done to the families in CA. The 2nd District Court of Appeals ruling could affect up to 200,000 home-schooled students in the state. “The court is guilty of an imperious assault on the rights of parents,” said Dr. James Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family.
“How dare these judges have the audacity to label tens of thousands of parents criminals — the equivalent to drug dealers or pickpockets — because they want to raise and educate their children according to their deeply held values? "The case before them involved one couple — the ruling should have been confined to that one couple, not used to punish an entire class of people, the vast majority of them religious conservatives.”

Jeanette's Home

All, It is with a mixture of grief and joy that we share that Jeanette has gone home to be with the Lord. Mark wanted you all to know that she was surrounded by her family and that he she passed very peacefully. Mark shared that about 20 minutes before she passed the family had asked if he would pray for Jeanette.
So grateful for the Lords kindness to Jeanette to able to receive the gospel and to say with faith "I believe".
We know that because of the gospel: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
Thank you all for you prayers for the Schaefer's and Albergo's. We have so come to love this family. Please continue to pray for comfort and the Lord's peace.

She always told me she wished she could have known our Mikes, she sure loves Braet & CC, and now I am sure she's getting to know him too. As a mater of fact he probably greeted her with his, "Hi, how are wou, I Micah Eric Dabis (Davis)." And I'm sure she gave him as kiss for me...

Thank You for the Cross

I just talked to Mark & Jen ( Jeanette's daugther & son in law)and the last hour there has been a drastic decline in Jeanette's health. She started having increasing pain last night and has been throwing up most of the morning. They started the morphine last night and right now she is not very coherent. She has been unable to keep any food down.

However her time with Shef went well and at the end he prayed for her, she also prayed after him. Then after her nap, Jen & Alyssa went up to be with her and as once again Jen was relating the gospel and as she did Jeanette said, "I believe." She continued to ask her mom, do you believe Jesus died for your sin, once again, "I believe." Jen then asked if she had peace, to which she answered yes. She also told Jen that she was going to see her dad. Just a few days ago death terrified her and now peace, praise the Lord! What an answer to prayer. Shorty after this conversation her health went downhill.

We had a short time with them outside and they were both greatly encouraged and comforted. Jen truly believes that her mom is now saved and going home to be with her Lord.

Our Life

I know I haven't written much about us lately. So I guess I am going to play catch up. In some ways I haven't really known what to say, sometimes grief seem likes is gets harder rather then easier, other times I'm in auto pilot and still we are making a "new normal" and sometimes it really seems normal.

In these last 2 months I have felt like I miss Mikes more than every before. There has been much sadness and many tears. If you would please pray that the Lord would help me to guard my heart against self pity~ as I desperately miss my little one. I see the gaps and Mikes was the filler - Braet's best friend and playmate and CC's too. And now in the Lord's perfect providence he is gone and our hearts still ache, particularly as I packed up, sifted through his clothes, looked at his toys, and spent the last few weeks in our old home where we have so many wonderful memories.... Heaven can seem such a long way off and it is easy for me to forget that in my sorrow that he is very much alive and well not so very far from here...our true home, with Jesus. Oh how the cross is grander than ever before. I think of how Jesus died to pay for my sin and one day because of the cross and my belief in him as Savior & Lord, I will be there with Him and my little boy. Is there anything grander than to think that when our time here on earth is done we will spend it with the one we were created for? All this in a perfect world of no more sin, no more death, no more tears.

The Lord has been gracious to comfort us and I am doing better right now. Luke is a huge source of grace for me. My best friend, to cry, hug and pray with. Occasionally we still receive emails or a card from someone saying they are praying and thinking of us, those notes always come at just the right time! People whom we barely know asking how they can pray for us has meant such a great deal. I never want him to be forgotten.

Our long time family friend, Roxanne, who has known, cared for and prayed for our family is making me a special quilt of Micah's clothing. I can't wait to see it and snuggle up in it as I dream of his sweet face.

Girlie does so many things like Micah, it's fun to watch. Braet is so tender and kind. He think and speaks of Micah often. Love those kiddos!!!

We have also just finalized Micah's memorial headstone, I think it will take a few months for it to be completed. But I think it is going to be beautiful and again, I just can't wait to see it. It took us a long while to complete this. Such a hard thing to work on yet we are so thankful to have completed it; I think it is going to be very special for us.

Also I must say that even though we haven't heard back from the second loan on whether they have accepted our offer or not, we love where we are living. Joe & Jeanette are such a wonderful couple. They have two grown daughters and 2 grandchildren (a 3rd on the way!). Jeanette has also been battling Small Cell Carcinoma cancer for some time and has been given a few days to a few weeks. Our hearts break for them and their family. So if you would join us in continuing to pray peace, strength and salvation for Jeanette and her entire family as they walk through this difficult time that would be wonderful.
