Little Man
Hi All
Thank you all for your prayers, cards, emails, dinner... We have been inundated with support. Wanted to let you know about lil man: Wed & Thurs, thank the Lord, have been better. Today he slept alot but still got off the couch. He is still very irritable but up- watching Cars of course, going outside just to hit the baseball and then running in and crashing back on the couch. We have loved watching him run around, show us his belly and cuddling with Cianne. We have so enjoyed these times, even just sitting by him and praying for him while he is sleeping. Dadda has been his go to guy and I've loved holding his hand while he falls asleep. Our mornings and evenings are generally our quiet time together, hanging out with little man. He is eating just a little, chicken nuggets and pizza. Drinking a ton; it seems his kidneys aren't holding enough water (due to the fact tumor turning things off so to speak).
Many of you have asked how we are... it's a loaded question and the answer changes. But in general we are well. Our heart are hurting, we cry and thankfully there are times of laughter. We are seeking to trust the Lord. Prayer,scripture and good books (check out the Resources section of our blog for helpful info)are wonderful comforts to our souls. Our pastors are visiting and praying for us. Our fam and friends have been a huge support and comfort.
We have received so many meaningful emails and cards of course they make us cry and are so encouraging~ let me share one card that was sent to Micah this week~ "I wanted to let you know since you are so special Mommy & Daddy are going to name my little brother Micah, just like you.Tell your brother and sister hello and my mommy and daddy said to tell your mommy and daddy that they are in their thoughts and prayers." How special to us, what a honor!
Specific Prayer Request:
Pretty Much the same as last time just a few more things...
-The tumor is pressing and affecting Micah's kidneys so he is drinking alot but his brain is telling his kidneys to release the fluids. Because of this his electrolytes can get out of line and can cause seizures. He has been a little shaky today and last night. Please pray for no seizures, that he would eat more and drink his Gatorade.

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him

More Grace
A wonderfully, encouraging poem I recieved in an email today. Wanted to share it with you...
He Giveth More Grace (by Annie Johnson Flint)
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater;
He sendeth more grace when the labours increase;
To added afflictions he addeth his mercy,
To multiplied trials, his multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done;
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving is only begun.
His love has no limits, his grace has no measure,
His power has no boundary known unto men;
For out of his infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

Precious Moments
The last few days have been intensely heart breaking. Mikes has been asleep much of the time with a few precious moments of awake time sprinkled throughout. He has been drinking lots of water, some soda and occasionally eating cheese pizza. Last night he sporadically popped up and put on a lil show for us...he slammed dunked the basketball, showed us his belly, did a lil dance and shelled out some kisses, took a run around the kitchen and then crashed on the couch. He has slept nearly 20 hours off and on since then but has been awake some tonight chatting with us and cuddling with Dadda as they watch Cars. He seems comfortable, thank the Lord for good medicine! He hasn't thrown up today (probably due to an increase in his meds) and he isn't holding his head but has been resting rather peacefully. Our hospice nurse came on Sat, she is great, even cried with us. How caring these people are- what a blessing. Micah has been more emotional than usual, he doesn't want to be messed with or have his diaper changed, can't blame him---but has been so sweet. He woke up this morning with a, "Hi Momma, Hi Dadda!" and wanted his sister (pics of them from this morning laying on the couch together). It was a Sweet time, we are savoring them.
We have enjoyed being with our family and having their support this weekend during this hard time. We have laughed, cried and prayed together. The guys even managed a short game of basketball. Wanted you all to know we are being so well taken care of! We know of your love for us, it is so very evident! Can't even begin to thank you all, it means so much more than you know. We are so overwhelmed because of the enormous amount of care. Meals are being brought to us nightly, we have received wonderfully encouraging emails, groceries, our pastors are praying & visiting with us and much, much more. We have and are being served wonderfully!
Just an FYI - email is by far the best way to keep in touch with us right now, we are taking few calls as our time is being spent with Micah and the fam. We are deeply sorrowful (it can be hard for us to answer lots of questions right now) and seeking comfort in one another and God's word. Thanks so much for journeying with us on this long trying road, for carrying our burden too. We Love You Guys!!
Much Thanks
Specific Prayer
* Still praying and hoping for a miracle
* -- That if prolonging Micah's life is not God's plan for our little guy that he would experience no pain, his breathing would be easy and his passing be quick and easy
*Peace for our hearts, that we would not be anxious and our sleep would be peaceful (my dreams have been troubling the last few nights)
*For our Braeton- death is hard- it is an enemy. Our little man has no category for this. Thank the Lord it has been conquered because of Christ's life, death and Resurrection. Our souls and Braet's can hope in this truth...Mikes will be with Jesus. Because of the forgiveness of sins and trust in Jesus we will be together again!
*Our family & friends. This is intensely painful, we are so thankful for our friends & fam- the support you have been. Please pray for comfort and peace for them as well. That we would know God's nearness more than ever before.
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

Our little Micah
Dear Family and Friends,
It with much sorrow that I that I write to you tonight. What a day that we've had. We started out with a blood draw at Children's Hospital to see if Micah's liver counts were low enough to start the Valproic Acid (a trial drug to treat his cancer) - this went pretty smoothly and soon we were off to a little family getaway for the weekend. Since Tuesday afternoon Micah has been sleeping a great deal throughout the day- he would get up to play for a little while but then would want to lay back down and watch the "Cars" movie and fall asleep for a couple hours at a time. We weren't sure what to make of this, but as we were driving we thought we should call Micah's doctors and get their input. They were concerned that there was pressure building and wanted us to come back to Children's right away for a CT scan. We did, and what we were to learn really took us by surprise. They told us his tumor was as big or bigger than when we first found it and that the pressure it was putting on his brain was causing him to lose conscienceness (thus the sleeping all the time). They said at this stage we could probably expect 1 - 2 weeks before Micah passes away.
Kriscinda and I are so grateful for the many many prayers that have been lifted up to God for our little Micah and for our family - we feel the effect of those prayers! Our hearts our greatly saddened at this news, but at the same time we are still crying out to God for a miracle, knowing that He is all powerful and able to do it. We are also keeping in mind that while it would grieve us so, if the Lord willed for Micah to be with Him, that it would be a joyous thing for our little Micah. "In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Ps 16:11. Thank God that death is not the end, because of Christ and his sacrifice for our sins we have the hope of life eternal. "Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:54-55.
When we came home from the hospital tonight we gave Micah his steroids to reduce the swelling and he perked right up. He laughed, he played, he showed off his belly and brought joy to his mommy and daddy and the rest of the Davis and Miller gang. We are so grateful for each day with this little guy. A huge thanks goes out to all who talked with us and prayed with us this day. Just knowing you are there for us has been a great comfort to our souls.
With much love,
Luke & Kriscinda, Braeton, Micah and Cianne

Lots of Updates
* In this Picture the Queen is watching my children make a huge mess decorating cookies *
Yesterday Cianne turned 1! Micah's had a blood draw at Childrens to see if his liver levels came down low enough to start a new trial. And the kiddos meet the Queen, Laura Bush and the Ambassadors wife! What a day!
Last week Micah had an MRI (we were not expecting to have on until this week) and they called back Thursday with the results. Mikes tumor has grown and spread- to another place in his brain and also at the base of his brain/spine. What to say, it always breaks our hearts.Last week was very trying for our us. Micah is doing pretty well, a bit emotional but still fun loving. The doctors have given him a sleeping pill for bed time and it is starting to work wonderfully. It's amazing the difference sleep makes =)
