Spring is for B-days

Here at the Davis house Spring is for B-days (well really winter too!) It starts in the winter with Mikelle, then Braet, Micah, CC & Owen Feb-May, 5 Birthdays! I cant say that I mind in the least, who doesn't love party with those they love.

So Happy Birthday Braet! I love this kid! He is growing way to fast in so many ways. He is my right hand lil man. He helps with caring for the littles in our home and trying to enter their world- makes bottles and playing with Owey. Reading and practicing piano with Cianne and even dress up with Klez (they play knights and spys =) I love to seeing living outside of himself and developing hopes and dreams and growing. He is humble young man who laughs and cries and gets frustrated, prays for and drinks Zija =) with me. He is a brother, a son and a friend. Glad to journey with you! Happy 11

Sunrise

With the time change I see the "sunrise" :) While the trees limit the view I have this great lil window in my room- as the sun shines through it , it splashes orange onto my wall right above my #9 (my Micahman's color and number). It's a sweet sight and a special reminder, a gift from God for my heart! I can't help but smile!

Consider Gifts that Give~ Gifts of Hope & Help~ Amazima

In the last six months or so we were able to listen to the audio book Kisses from Katie as the kids and I  drove here and there. We loved it! We have found ourselves compelled and inspired. This book is helping to water seeds of compassion and awaken a desire- a need- a calling to serve the poor and the orphan in new and different ways in our lives.
I received one of their beautiful necklaces for Christmas and in turn Luke & able were able to purchase these for our girls at Valentine's. It was a special gift for Cianne particularly after listening to the book. There was a real connection, her necklace cared for others. Special gifts that gift so very much! Thanks mom I love mine!

Amazima Store

About Our Store ( taken from the Amazima Website)

In 2007, at the age of 18, Katie Davis traveled to Uganda for the first time.  She fell in love with the people of Uganda and started Amazima Ministries to help educate and empower the people with God's love.
Every product in this store is hand-crafted by women who live in the slum community of Masese. These women once turned to prostitution, alcohol brewing, and digging through the trash as their only means for providing for their families.  Seeing their desperation, Katie initiated a vocational program through Amazima Ministries, training the women in the making of recycled magazine bead necklaces. Each woman invited into the program has been nominated by her community as being of good reputation, work ethic, and character.  They are responsible to supply their own materials and to craft their own jewelry.  Amazima purchases these beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and other pieces from the women at wholesale and makes them available to you.
All profits from the sale of these jewelry pieces will go directly to Amazima's feeding program in Masese.  Every day, Monday through Friday, 1,200+ children rely on Amazima for a nutritious lunch.  For some children, this is the only meal they will eat in the day.
Brighten your favorite outfit with a gorgeous new piece of jewelry from Uganda.  Dazzle your friends and family with colorful, radiant colors draped around your neck.  But most importantly, know that your purchase employed a hard-working Ugandan woman AND fed a starving child in the name of Jesus.

Yummy Treats

So it has been a long week- or at least it feels that way. =) Nothing abnormal  just school, life and a sick lil one (well I guess the chicken pox is a lil abnormal!- poor Owey!). I am ready for weekend and for spring break!!!
Today while I was looking up recipes for St Patricks Day- we love St Patrick and the man of God he was- it is great to be able to set aside a fun day of food & green to reflect and make memories. Anyway long story short I found this recipe and since it is Friday I decided to go for it and just to make sure they were good before I passed them on I sampled them and yep they are yummy and super easy so that is a great combo!

Happy Birthday Mom!! ~3 Cords Bags

So often a moms work, love, care and sacrifice is unseen by many and under appreciated.  Mom, there will never be words or praise on this side to put to all you have given to so many- for so long. I know that in the midst of the daily/ yearly grind =) all you do can seem rote, probably because giving comes so very naturally to you-  I am sure you don't see the beauty or the gift you are giving to so many; namely your family, grands and friends. There is no way to repay or no thanks deep enough, the ripple effects of your loving, care stretch farther than you can begin to imagine. A smile (okay and tears) come to my face as I imagine our Savior sharing the great tapestry, the grand ripple effect of your life - of living a life worthy and bringing voice of thanks to all the unseen. In the hard, please know much grace is seen. May this year bring much joy and refreshment to your heart.
We are all ever grateful for you!!! Much Love

Because this is who she is she asked for a beautiful tote that is made by 3 Cords...
