Loving Reading!

She climbed up in my bed with a good book :) Not quite asleep but falling asleep after reading for the last 30 min. At the beginning of June I only hoped she would read well let alone develop a love for reading! Brent you rock, I have no idea how you helped connect all those dots but you did! Thank you for teaching her to read real books!
Val, she loves the read aloud time you have in class and all the stories, tonight she sat outside around the campfire with her daddy and read to him! Thank you for fostering a love for reading in her. You guys are so greatly impacting our girlies lil life and heart- we are so grateful and thankful!!!
CC you have worked hard my sweet, sweet girl, we are so pround of you!!!

Lil Owey is now 2 months old. The fascination he siblings have for him has not worn off! He is still smothered with kisses and love and has begun to respond with smiles and goos much to their delight :).
He had his 2 month check up and he is 13.2 lbs! Our biggest lil man. All the other kiddos have been 10% for weight but not our lil whopper who is 75% ! He sure is growing fast!

Recital

Today was Braeton and Cianne's very first recital. It was sweet. Over the years Braet has had some wonderful teachers. We started with our dear friend Helen Lowe and next was aunt Ally. Ally is now in hair school so Miss Rachel is their new teacher. Braeton has been playing for nearly 3 years now and CC just started this March.
There were some butterflies but it is great to be playing with friends in front of family. I'd say for their first performance it went well and I cant wait to see the next one!  Dabbs, thanks so much for opening your home!

Life with 4

:) We are adjusting to life with 4-controlled chaos! Really it has been great, of course we have our bumps but we are all so loving our lil O. He is a great baby, I am getting some sleep and school is out for the summer so that is wonderful break for all of us. Now we have been busy with more
Important things like snuggling our lil man and enjoying outside.

Luke and I are working to plan some summer fun things but mainly we are just looking forward to time together.
Happy Summer to you.

Summer Celebration

The big kids were at Summer Celebration this week. It is a wonderful camp and this year the theme was space- complete with a crashed spaceship on stage and Josh Cooley and Matt Maka (the teacher astronauts ) descending from the ceiling. Here they are on Crazy Hat Day. Braet won 3rd place!!

Lil Man's 1st Photo Shoot

Well we are loving this lil man. What an amazing Mothers day gift! Thus far he is a really good baby which is a huge blessing. Luke is back to work after taking a week off- a sweet time together but it never seems long enough :) and well the kids and I are going to attempt to settle into a routine again before the end of the year! I'm anticipating some bumps with that since we have such a sweet distraction!

LAST Baby UPDATE- before Owen's Arrival =)

Well I have made it to 38 1/2 weeks- the farthest I've gone. AHHHH! Anyway they end is in sight. I went to the doc this morning and I am 1 cm dilated. I know big whoop- but I have also never dilated before actual go time- so this pregnancy is just all around different. The point is if I don't go into labor this week my doc will induce me this Friday morning the 11th- YAHHH! Love your prayers for the delivery, I haven't been resting well or feeling great the last few days, my "cheerful cheeks" are escaping me and I'm having a bit of trouble finding them! Patience is low. Tomorrow is my CC's B-day and I really want to be able to bless her with a special day. Also for this lil guy for good health for him and peace for my heart, the last few weeks have been a bit rough for me. Can't believe he is almost really here! Thanks All!

My Friday Funnies =)

The weeks seem long right now waiting for lil man. Sat is 38 week ,the longest I have ever gone and I sure hope that continues to hold true. But in the mean time we are getting some stuff done and Braet and CC are making me smile just being kids. Their sayings this week...

Rainy, Family Night- Pizza, Ice Cream and games- Uno was the game of choice this Wed and CC made it down to 1 card, not once but twice, her response to that: BINGO!

Braet- I had entered a" Pick a Spot" to redo, so I displayed Brae'ts room reno. We didn't win but yesterday a flyer came in the email. It is actually an advertisement for cleaning (unknown to Braet) but the Title read "Cleanest Home in America ... DAVIS FAMILY. " So his reply was, "Well, Mom at least you won something."  =)
Of course I love their reasoning at times and its great that he thinks this is true- I had to laugh especially since it is so not true. While I go for neat and tidy around- Cleanest Home is FAR from the truth!!

Waiting for Owen

Well, I've made it to 36 weeks which is great for lil man but I must say I'm having a hard time being patient now! Yet I know the Lord's time is best and a week or so more would  be good for baby. Today I had my doc appt and no surprise to me- all my contractions have done nothing! So we wait and hope for this lil man to join us shortly ( maybe this  weekend, Micah's bday :)

35 Weeks- Almost there!!

I have my diaper bag- I'm now ready- you know the essentials, its super cute and of course has orange on it!! Thankfully I have made it 35 weeks and 3 days =) My deal with the doc was 35 1/2 so only a day away and I must say the way I was feeling this weekend it seems like a good time to have a lil baby so Friday sounds good (if you ask me)! So doc said bed rest can end then which is tomorrow- but whats a day! We have been doing final prep things and I am packing today for the hospital- can you tell I really, really want this to be soon! Watch this be my only late pregnancy!

Anyway as we near the end, we are all super excited to meet this new new lil man. Its hard to believe there will be another lil person here soon. I can'even begin to imagine life with him. What he will look like, who he will grow to be, what his nickname will end up being or how the kids will relate. We would so appreciate your prayers for a smooth delivery and of course a health baby.

Hoping this will be my last update before we get to send out photos to introduce lil man.

Finally Back

So there is much editing to be done and much catch up to be had. I've started many drafts in the last few years that have never made it to the front page and well I had hoped to jump back in with something profound. (Good luck with that!!) But truth be told the last few years have been tough for me personally and while God has been steadily quietly meeting me. I feel as if I have not had much capacity other than to care for our lil family. So I'll just jump in feet first with a funny story and lil update.

Story:
Our darling firecracker, Mikelle, is 2 years old and it has only been in the last few months that she has started sleeping through the night once again. She is our wander, climber and mischef maker. A bit ago Braet woke me up in the middle of the night with Kelz in tow. Dazed and a bit confused he had woke up to a lil "bed bug," (who climbed he bunk bed ladder-) picking his nose and then she preceded to pick hers!!! Oh this kid, she makes you wanna laugh and cry!

Update:
Hey All,

Thanks for your prayers for me and the family. The "bug" has finally passed and the last few days have been good health wise. My contractions has dramatically lessened which is a huge answer to prayer and am now able to do some small tasks (ie fold clothes, make cereal in the morning, light cleaning-Don't look at the floors! - you know the basics =) to care for the family. I had a doc appt yesterday and have been cleared for small amounts of driving- YAHHHH- while I can't shop-LOVE Amazon!- I can run Braet to classes again. I am so grateful for that!
I would have never chosen bed rest but God is sure using my limitations in our fam. The kids have def stepped up to plate- now sure its bumpy but Braet is making meals and serving his sisters in ways that have done small wonders for their relationship. Things Luke and I had talked about that we were hoping for growth in- in ourselves and the kiddos, the Lord has provided a small (small only in comparison - it was a rough first few week for me =) trial as a platform. Im learning much- its not really been pretty but there have sure been some sweet moments that busy life and full capacity hadn't afforded. And while I do look forward to this season coming to an end (2 weeks baby!!!) I am also hoping for more sweetness with the fam and hopefully growth.
By the way thanks for making this so much easier!! Meals, texts, emails, prayers, chats have been great-, company and encouragement for me,keeping me connected to the outside world =) Mom and Luke have been super!!! They can clean like crazy fast and have been doing pretty much well- Everything! Brandon can work magic with leftovers, Mark & Jenny are a great delivery service- they pick up kids too =) and Dad could use a lil bus- he'll do any errand you could want- kids or groceries!

Seriously thank you all. Looking forward to introducing our new lil man soon
Much Love & Appreciations

Baby's Steps

so Daddy's lil girl
It's hard to believe that in just a few weeks we will be celebrating Kelz 1st birthday. The year has flown and what a joy she is to our family! We all just love that lil squish!!

A few weeks ago she took her first step. Then she took 5 steps to Ally! =) She wouldn't walk for any of us, just Ally! Go Aunt Ally!!! Last night ,however, she put on a show for us. Walking 5, 8 , 10 steps at a time. It was funny to watch a bunch of grown ups go gogoo-googoo over walking! We loved it! She is really going to be on the move now! Watch out world, here comes Kelz!!

Locks of Love

Our Cianne is really growing up. A friend, Aubreigh, of CC's recently cut her hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Shorty after Cianne decide she would like to do the same. So this year for her Maw-Maw's birthday she cut her hair in honor of her.

So sweet, so grown up. We all enjoyed CC long chocolate hair (as she called it) so it was especially wonderful that she was willing to part with it to benefit others.

Cianne, we love ya so and a grateful for the girl you are becoming. You are loving others more than yourself. And the short cut is totally cute!!! Thanks Ally for the awesome haircut!!!

Backwards "L" for Locks of Love =)
